Dave Erickson Leaves KXLY 4

Dave Erickson has left KXLY 4 HD News. Dave had been co-anchoring channel 4's 5pm, 6pm and 6:30pm newscasts along side Robyn Nance. Previously Dave anchored the weekend evening newscasts. In an email I received earlier this week Erickson said, "I felt now was the best time to look for a new challenge. I have no regrets." Best of luck to Dave in the future. No word on if KXLY will replace Erickson or if Robyn Nance will be the sole anchor of their evening newscasts.

    Yeah, pretty sure this was not his choice. It's the best time to look for a new challenge because it's his only choice.

    Kind of a shame the way this industry says good bye to people. One day they're there and the next day they are not without any explanation. However, the fact I'm only the third person to comment in a month shows that the viewing audience apparently doesn't care either.

    I liked the news anchor duo. I was surprised by the sudden empty chair without any comment from the station (is that how the media works?). I assume from his general statement that office politics was at play. I like Robin but I think a two person presentation is more interesting than just one. Best wishes to both of them.

    Bring Mike Gonzalez and Nadine Woodward to the evening news. They would definitely be worth watching in the evenings.

    Robin Nance could do with a change as well. Nadine Woodward would be an outstanding choice for the evening news!

    I think Dave was a good anchor, he was gone a lot so it took a while before I noticed he was gone. Then I checked the website and saw he as not on there anymore. I think this station makes some strange decisions, I am still wondering about their decision to take Dennis Patchin off Sports and bring in Derek Deiss. He is hard to understand and talks like he is an auctioneer. I think they should bring back Patchin and bring in another anchor with Nance. She is good so hopefully they don't change her.

    I usually watch 6 -I only watched 4 because they have news at 6:30. I thought Dave was great and very out-going and friendly. I was very disappointed to find out they let him go. I E mailed the station and they didn't bother to answer so I finally called.
